Analysis of Second-Order Modes of Linear Discrete-Time Systems under Bounded-Real Transformations

چکیده
This paper discusses the behavior of the second-order modes (Hankel singular values) of linear discrete-time systems under bounded-real transformations, where the transformations are given by arbitrary transfer functions with magnitude bounded by unity. Our main result reveals that the values of the second-order modes are decreased under any of the above-mentioned transformations. This result is the generalization of the theory of Mullis and Roberts, who proved that the second-order modes are invariant under any allpass transformation, i.e. any lossless boundedreal transformation. We derive our main result by describing the controllability/observability Gramians of transformed systems with the help of the discrete-time bounded-real lemma. key words: discrete-time state-space system, second-order mode (Hankel singular value), bounded-real transformation, controllability Gramian, observability Gramian, discrete-time bounded-real lemma

Admissibility analysis for discrete-time singular systems with time-varying delays by adopting the state-space Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model
This paper is pertained with the problem of admissibility analysis of uncertain discrete-time nonlinear singular systems by adopting the state-space Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model with time-delays and norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. Lyapunov Krasovskii functionals are constructed to obtain delay-dependent stability condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which is dependent on the low...
متن کاملFunctionally closed sets and functionally convex sets in real Banach spaces
Let $X$ be a real normed space, then $C(subseteq X)$ is functionally convex (briefly, $F$-convex), if $T(C)subseteq Bbb R $ is convex for all bounded linear transformations $Tin B(X,R)$; and $K(subseteq X)$ is functionally closed (briefly, $F$-closed), if $T(K)subseteq Bbb R $ is closed for all bounded linear transformations $Tin B(X,R)$. We improve the Krein-Milman theorem ...
متن کاملAn Extension to Imprecise Data Envelopment Analysis
The standard data envelopment analysis (DEA) method assumes that the values for inputs and outputs are exact. While DEA assumes exact data, the existing imprecise DEA (IDEA) assumes that the values for some inputs and outputs are only known to lie within bounded intervals, and other data are known only up to an order. In many real applications of DEA, there are cases in which some of the input ...
متن کاملInvariance of Second-Order Modes of Linear Continuous-Time Systems under Typical Frequency Transformations
This paper discusses the behavior of the second-order modes (Hankel singular values) of linear continuous-time systems under typical frequency transformations, such as lowpass-lowpass, lowpasshighpass, lowpass-bandpass, and lowpass-bandstop transformations. Our main result establishes the fact that the second-order modes are invariant under any of these typical frequency transformations. This m...
متن کاملConsensus of second-order discrete-time multi-agent systems with nonuniform time-delays and dynamically changing topologies
This paper studies the consensus problem of multi-agent systems with nonuniform time-delays and dynamically changing topologies. A linear consensus protocol is introduced to realize local control strategies for these second-order discrete-time agents. By model transformations and applying the properties of nonnegative matrices, sufficient conditions are derived for state consensus of the system...
